Jonathan grew up playing ice hockey on the prairies of Western Canada.
When a freak accident sidelined him for a season, Jonathan discovered the joy of programming while creating his own Choose Your Own Adventure stories on his Apple ][e.

Upon graduation as an Electrical Engineer, Jonathan became fascinated with software and the very human side of it’s delivery. Since reading Kent Becks seminal IEEE paper on XP, Jonathan has since been searching for better ways to reliably deliver software, while having some fun along the way.

When not cycling through the throes of a Canadian winter or coaching his sons’ hockey teams, you can find him sharing his thoughts on software at his local Starbucks while listening to his favorite rock band Rush.
